The three Albanians raped in Montenegro are in Albania. Klodjan Meaj, one of the Albanians who were raped in Montenegro, has given evidence to the Albanian police, where he has shown some more details. a lot about how the event happened, confessing that they had an Albanian flag in the mirror of the vehicle they were traveling with.
According to him, the main suspicions are that the violence against the already identified Montenegrin citizens was caused by that flag.
“We got off the ferry and took our car. We followed the road without problems to the town of Herceg Novi in Montenegro. We stopped there for a moment because we had a problem with the car. As soon as we stopped, a group of people came and hit the vehicle they were in. We went outside because we didn’t understand what was happening and they also hit us, physically abusing us for no reason and without any reason. We were communicating in very low voices inside the car and there was no reason, no provocation on our part. As soon as we got out of the car, they also hit us and then left. In my vehicle, I have an Albanian flag in the mirror, it’s a small flag. I don’t know if this is the reason since the vehicle has German and not Albanian license plates.
We have given our statements to the Montenegrin police as there was no reason to abuse us in that way. We received some medication in a hospital in Montenegro and after the declarations we willingly came to Albania. I want to thank the Albanian state very much. I have a thank you for the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, who has supported us a lot. I also thank the Albanian Embassy in Montenegro, which has supported us at every moment, the Albanian police who were close to us and accompanied us, as well as the Shkodra hospital for their readiness. What we have requested is that the incident be clarified and the perpetrators be brought to justice”, stated Meaj.
