The mayor of Shkodra has reacted to the debate sparked by the publication of the document of the municipal council. Beci tells the truth about the procedure that will follow the decision of the municipal council.
“Cultural institutions are no longer father’s fields!
Some say it’s a waste of time dealing with denials. Some others say that refutation amplifies the lie, but does not change the minds of the liars. I myself am not used to lying or wasting time with liars. But seeing how the lie about the “Migjeni” Theater has disturbed quite honest and benevolent people, I am also saying two words.
With the coming to the management of Shkodër municipality, we have seen and heard from the inside things that you would like to know and are ashamed to say publicly.
In Shkodra, where culture and sport are the main words of the city’s history, spirit, awareness and hope, we inherited an organization of the theater “Migjeni” where 70% of the salaries were given to individuals who had nothing to do with the role of the theater, but with work other supporting ones, which were also not done although they could be done with much less people put on the border for those jobs.
The actors rehearsed without any conditions, they were treated with pity and it is not known where the ticket money ended up, while those spent on oil have probably warmed the theater of politics and the “Migjeni” Theater more than once.
Idem also in other cultural and sports institutions, where the bloated bodies with “support” employees were a big mockery of the state of their environments.
The liars in question who filled Shkodra with the news that the “Migjeni” Theater is being dissolved are definitely responsible for the above misery.
We have created a special directorate, which will fulfill the need of support services of the institutions, cutting the expenses for “supporting” heads of the political theater and putting into operation a new system for the maintenance and management of the buildings.
The theater will be there, the troupe of theater artists will be there, other cultural, sports and educational institutions will be there. Their leaders will be there, but they will deal with art, culture, sports and education as they should, not with the menial jobs that should have been done by those who received full salaries but never did them.
The budget for culture and sports of the municipality of Shkodër in 2024 is 50% higher than in 2023. The salaries and fees of art and culture employees are also the most dignified. Even the maintenance of the buildings of the relevant institutions will be dignified and never more scandalous.
