The new fees for the driver’s license device came into effect today (February 5) and this has caused the Association of Driving Schools in Elbasan to protest.
They boycotted the work, while the head of the association, Alim Lulaj, called the decision of the line ministry to increase the tariffs, without consulting the interest groups, insidious.
He emphasizes that this additional fee of 15,000 new leks will be paid by the citizens and not by the driving schools, but this will lead to their emptying.
Taxation of free professions, including driving schools, starting from January 1 was another point opposed by driving schools in Elbasan. Their leaders said that these measures are leading them to bankruptcy.
About 33 driving schools operate in Elbasan, which have the same concern. Their leaders warned today that if their demands are not taken into account they will escalate the protest.
