From February 1 of this year, the reduction in the price of electricity will begin, which will only affect the category of household consumers, which means that there will be no changes for businesses, budgetary and non-budgetary institutions or bakeries.
The Energy Regulatory Authority will begin reviewing the application for the Retail Sale Price for Universal Service Customers for the period February 1-December 31, 2025 on Tuesday to determine the new tariff level. The current price that Albanian families pay for electricity is 9.5 lek, excluding VAT or 11.4 lek, including VAT.
Meanwhile, the application filed by the Electricity Distribution Operator has not been made public, not providing information on the new price level requested by this department.
The change in the tariffs that households pay for electricity was announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, which announced that the decision is based on the positive performance of public energy companies.
