The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, appeared this morning at the premises of the Special Prosecution Office.
What caught our eye was the fact that Veliaj kept his mouth shut during the ‘parade’ to go to his ‘colleagues’ at SPAK.
Sources indicate that Veliaj was summoned to SPAK at the request of prosecutor Ols Dado.
This is the second time that Veliaj has appeared at SPAK, after the first time he appeared on April 30 of this year. At that time, the mayor stayed for 8 hours at SPAK in connection with the Special Prosecution Office’s investigations into the Tirana incinerator.
Meanwhile, a few days ago (December 6, 2024), SPAK seized the phone of his wife, Ajola Xoxa.
By decision of the GJKKO, inspections were also carried out at the ‘Harabel’ studio at the former Blloku, where documents related to the investigations launched by prosecutor Olsi Dado were seized, regarding the assets of Erion Veliaj and his family members.
After the seizure of Veliaj’s wife’s phone, SPAK stated that investigative actions have been taken, while the investigation launched by prosecutor Dado is still in the preliminary stages.
