The session at GJKKO for the former mayor of Kukës, Safet Gjici and Alma Kaçin, has been postponed.
The reason for the postponement of the hearing is the absence of a member of the judging panel.
In this court session, it was expected to defend Gjici and Kaci, both of whom were involved in a scandal, after the publication of a video, where Gjici appeared having sex with Kaci, in his municipality office.
51-year-old Safet Gjici is accused of the criminal offense of “passive corruption of high state officials or of local elected officials” article 260 of the Criminal Code, while 40-year-old Alma Kaçi is accused of the criminal offense of “active corruption of high state officials” or local elected officials”, Article 245 of the Criminal Code.
According to SPAK’s investigations, evidence and data were obtained from the analysis of which it was found that the defendant Alma Kaçi is the person who offered/gave irregular benefits to the defendant Safet Gjici, acting as the Mayor of Kuka Municipality, and that he recently, after receiving an irregular benefit from her, in the form of a sexual favor, he promised to help her with her dog protection project and to present it further at the meeting of the Municipal Council of Kuka Municipality.
