The Fier police have handcuffed a 42-year-old man in Fier. He allegedly tried to kill his two elderly parents on Wednesday evening.
As the blue uniforms announce, the 42-year-old set fire to the apartment where he lived with his parents. Then he closed the doors so that they could not leave the apartment and left.
“The services of the Fier Police Station made it possible to catch and arrest the citizen A. S., 42 years old. The procedural materials will be transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action, for the criminal offenses “Murder due to family relations”, remaining in the attempt, “Domestic violence” and “Destruction of property by fire”, the police announced.
Fortunately, the two elderly people are in good health. The police, firefighters and neighbors who went as soon as they were notified of the incident managed to get them out of the apartment in time.
They spent Wednesday evening in the Fier hospital, while according to information from their neighbors, the elderly woman had been paralyzed for years.
The first to spot the couple was Ilir Mehrizvani. He saw the old man asking for help at the window. He immediately intervened to save them even though the flames were strong.
He affirmed that the elderly were traumatized and emphasized that they escaped fortunately as the flames did not reach the bedroom where the elderly woman was lying. Otherwise, we would talk about a tragic balance from this event.
In the meantime, it is reported that their son, who was arrested, has used violence against them before. He suffers from mental health problems.
