Yesterday, referring to the forecast for the deteriorating hydro-meteorological situation along the Albanian coast, the General Maritime Directorate has announced that it has been prohibited to grant permission for navigation, for all small vessels, fishing vessels operating along the Albanian coast, along the dates 10 , 11 and 12 of this month.
Also, the ships of international maritime transport for passengers and vehicles on the Vlora-Brindisi-Vlora line will not continue to operate normally according to the respective destinations, until the hydrometeorological conditions improve.
“Based on the forecast for the deteriorating hydrometeorological situation along the Albanian coast during the dates 10-11-12.02.2024 starting at 14:00 on 09.02.2024 in the direction South-South-East, South-South-West in the force up to 7 -8bft with wind speed up to 20-25m/s and wave height from 2.50 to 3.50 meters.
In order to prevent any unexpected situation due to atmospheric conditions, we ask for the cooperation of all entities that exercise activity in the maritime field, to take all the necessary measures to secure the tools in the port and increase the readiness of the crew in the tools floating.
1. IT IS PROHIBITED TO GIVE – DEPARTURE PERMISSION DURING THE DATES 10-11-12.02.2024 STARTING FROM 14:00 ON 09.02.2024 FOR ALL SMALL VESSELS, FISHING VESSELS OPERATING ALONG THE ALBANIAN COAST AND BEING NOTIFIED THANK YOU FOR TAKING MEASURES FOR THEIR SECURITY.
2. International sea transport ships for passengers and vehicles on the Vlora-Brindisi-Vlora line will not continue to operate normally according to the respective destinations, until the hydrometeorological conditions improve.
3. The improvement of the deteriorated hydrometeorological situation for small boats and fishing will be after 06:00 on 12.02.2024”, the announcement states.
