A tragic accident happened on the Këlcyre-Përmet road axis, where eight people lost their lives after the vehicle they were traveling in went off the road and ended up on the side of the Vjosë river.
The driver from Shkodra and the seven clandestines who were in the car, which was torn to pieces after the collision, lost their lives in the accident.
The incident happened around 04:00 in the vicinity of Kuqar village, allegedly as a result of the driver losing control over the driving of the Benz type vehicle.

Around 04:00, on the road axis Këlcyrë-Përmet, near the village of Kuqar, it is suspected that as a result of the loss of control over the driving of the vehicle by the driver, the Benz type vehicle left the road and fell on the side of the Vjosë river.
As a result of leaving the road, 8 citizens lost their lives. (7 citizens are suspected to be from third countries and the driver of the vehicle from Shkodra)
At the scene is the investigative group which, under the direction of the Prosecutor, is working to clarify the circumstances and the cause of the accident.
Also at the scene are the Local Director of Police, the Director of the Border Department, the Director of the Traffic Police and the Director of Public Order.
There are also two groups of the National Security Force at the scene.
