Former Socialist MP Alqi Bllako has been charged with “corruption” committed in two cases, including the Tirana incinerator.
A few days ago, prosecutor Dritan Prençi communicated the charges to Bllako, who has been in prison for more than two years.
In April of this year, SPAK brought some of the defendants in the Tirana incinerator case to trial. Specifically, former Minister of Environment Lefter Koka, Pëllumb Abesh, Erjon Murataj, Bledar Karolin, Taulant Tusha, Namik Simixhiu, Etleva Kondi, Alba Thoma, Valbona Ballgjini, Sidita Kopliku, Jetmir Llapaj and Silena Tola. The prosecution communicated the charge of “abuse of office” to them.
Koka, Bllako, Tusha and Karoli are under “prison arrest”, while Alba Thoma, Ballgjini, Temali, Kondi, Abeshi and Tola are under “house arrest”. Namik Simixhiu has the measure of “compulsory appearance”.
For the Elbasan incinerator, Alqi Bllako was found not guilty by the first instance, while for the Fier incinerator he was sentenced to 4 years, a sentence which was reduced to 2.8 years in prison due to the summary trial.
