The number of patients who go to the Bulqiza hospital with signs of poisoning continues to increase.
So far it is reported that the number of patients has gone up to 90, from 50 that was until yesterday evening.
The prefect of the Dibër Nexhbedin Shehu district has called on the residents not to use the drinking water until the results of the analysis, as it is suspected that the drinking water may be the cause of poisoning, but not only, but also viruses.
Top Channel learns that there were attempts to hide this event where the lives of residents are endangered by the quality of drinking water in Bulqiza. However, the reason for the poisoning is expected to be confirmed through final analyses.
In Bulqiza, it is not the first time that residents turn to the hospital for medical help with signs of poisoning, almost a year ago there was a mass poisoning where more than 60 family members presented themselves at the health center of Gjorica.
Also in January 2021, 30 people were poisoned by drinking water and were treated at the Shupenza center.
Even in the past years, patients poisoned due to drinking water have been recorded in the hospital registers. Apparently, interventions in the water supply network have been lacking to solve this problem. The police announce that they have set up an investigative team to clarify the circumstances and determine the cause of the poisoning.
