For two years now, the fate of the “gambling king” continues to be a mystery. “Is he alive or dead, Ervis Marinaj?”, this is one of the questions that has been circulating in television studios since August 9, 2022, the last date when there was information on the much-wanted justice.
Investigative journalist Klodiana Lala has recently spoken again about this issue. Invited to the show “N’Spak”, Lala was asked by the journalist Ermal Qorri what is happening with Martinaj and how the investigations for his search are proceeding.
Considering the fact that until now, as two years have passed and there has been no information about him, not even a movement, I suspect that he has been executed.
“I have published one of his last images before he disappeared, of course I am neither the prosecutor nor the judge to say categorically about his fate. Unlike many people in the world of crime, Marinaj did not come from the street and become a criminal, it was the opposite, a man who came from the university bank and then entered crime.
Of course I have my doubts, I believe there are no investigations into that case, the fact that the Albanian authorities have left it to a small Prosecutor’s Office means that I think there was no great interest in handling this case.
But the fact that so much time is passing and there is no clue, no movement, leads me to suspect that Ervis Marinaj may have been killed. These are the doubts that I raise for these reasons that I say.
But I dare not say that this is so because I say it, I must have proof. I know that there were searches in the southern area, that there were suspicions that he might have been killed and thrown into the sea.
I was there, there were searches by the pigeons, but unfortunately nothing is known about his fate yet”, said Lala, as she was further asked if there had been alerts to express that there are several cases in which she went verify, but unfortunately he has not managed to come up with final evidence to “unravel” the fate of the “gambling king”.
“I had an alert about the research that was being carried out, I had an alert about data connecting him to the Durrës area, I also went and went and did verifications, but I didn’t go to that final test to say that this happened to Martinaj” , Lala added.
