Former Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj has accepted the cooling of relations with Prime Minister Edi Rama since the 2021 elections.
In an interview for the show Opinion on TV Klan, deputy Fatmir Xhafaj spoke about the relationship between him and the Prime Minister, for which he said that the relationship between them has improved recently since the establishment of the Parliamentary Anticorruption Commission, which is headed by Xhafaj.
“I had a period where there was minimal communication, to say the least… It was a process that was built between us before the 2021 election, we didn’t have frequent communication, or we had infrequent communication. At the moment there is a different relationship because of the commission, and only for the commission.
I had several long conversations with him about the commission, he listened to me very attentively, he asked me how the government works, what do you think about these issues we have, in the end he said ok, I invite you to take over this .
I told him, if I ask you this, will we do it like this? He said yes. Do you have a taboo? That the opposition can come, the experts can come. He told me I have only one thing, you are free to change anything, I ask for two things: To be invited to debate with you and the second if you are going to decide on something to be certified by the EU”, said Fatmir Xhafaj about his report with Prime Minister Edi Rama.
