The former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, left the premises of SPAK after about 9 hours after being summoned to the Special Prosecutor’s Office yesterday morning.
In a statement to the media, Beqaj said that the interrogation sessions will continue.
The former minister emphasized that the prosecutors had confirmed that they would return the items that had been seized at the end of December.
“Today we communicated with the prosecutors and they told me that I will soon have the items that were seized from me. The two documents of a trip abroad that I received today. Today, the fact that Gazi and annex eight are related to sterilization and have nothing to do with the other issue was clarified,” he said.
A few days ago, the GJKKO left in force the insurance measure “Compulsion to appear” and “Prohibition of exiting the country” for the former minister Beqaj.
Beqaj is suspected of having committed “abuse of duty in cooperation” during the procedures for granting a concession of 100 million dollars for 10 years by the Ministry of Health, which he headed, of integrated services for hospital surgical sterilizations.
On the other hand, Beqaj rejected the accusations, but underlined that he will be placed at the disposal of justice to reveal the truth.
