The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, is interested in buying a villa in Albania.
The news was reported yesterday by the Italian media “Il Foglio”, which writes that the relations between Albania and Italy can be intensified further, if Meloni’s wish will come true.
“Meloni has set his sights on a villa in a resort in Albania” – writes the Italian media, while more details have been learned about the area where the Italian prime minister wants to rest in Albania.
It is about a private villa in the coveted area of Palasa, with a swimming pool, private garden and sea view, where its price runs into hundreds of thousands of euros.
Italian media also write that Meloni has been looking for a new investment for a long time, and that her dream was a villa with a view of the sea, with a private pool and garden.
“The investment would not only be economic, but also, above all, political. The same as Silvio Berlusconi did when he bought the villa in Lampedusa to be closer to the islanders and not make them feel alone. Meloni is in close contact with Albania considering the project for the construction of immigrant reception centers. A choice, if the sale is completed, which will “cement” the relationship between Rome and Tirana. In the meantime, it is rumored that Meloni can enjoy a few days of relaxation in Sardinia, where he can meet with Marina Berlusconi.” – writes, among other things, the Italian media.
“Il Foglio” emphasizes that the news has been confirmed by political and diplomatic sources in the Albanian government.
If Meloni buys the villa in Palasa, he will be even closer to Prime Minister Edi Rama, who rests in government villas in Vlora. Maybe they will meet every summer, as the head of the Albanian government describes Melon as Albania’s little sister.
It is not known if Meloni really liked the south of Albania, after the holidays he spent last year, or if there is something else behind the purchase of this villa.
It is worth emphasizing the fact that last August, at the invitation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, Giorgia Meloni spent a few days of vacation with her family at the government villa in Vlora.
In those days, Meloni and Rama talked about a number of projects, among which the housing of African refugees who would be caught on the Italian coast in Albania.
Then on November 5, they signed the agreement in Rome, as the deadline for the opening of the camps in Shengjin and Gjadër has been postponed several times, the last one being on August 1, as the works have not yet been completed.
