Blendi Fevziu was invited to the show “The Unexposed”, where he spoke about Edi Rama and his power, which today is almost absolute in Albania.
Fevziu said that such a long stay of a leader at the head of the country is not positive and that rotation is good for democracy.
The moderator also showed an episode with Rama, for the first time on the “Opinion” show. Fevziu said that Rama had appeared 3 hours before the interview, and with an iron in his hand, directed the lighting by himself.
Ylli Rakipi: Today Rama has taken everything. If a person who does not know Albania, asks you to describe the power of Edi Rama, how do you describe it?
Blendi Fevziu: Edi Rama is not threatened at the moment. That’s the biggest thing in politics, there are no people unthreatened. There is nothing more terrible than when the most powerful man in the country does not feel threatened by anything. It is the responsibility of the opposition, internationals, own party, etc.
Ylli Rakipi: Even the doctor tried to take it all, but he couldn’t. However, Edi Rama wants to take over the opposition as well, to build it and have it under control. Luli Bashan, for example, with whom he will vote the laws.
Blendi Fevziu: No wonder. In most of the right, they cannot see the responsibility in Rama for the events in the opposition. If Rama has taken away the leader they had for eight years, it is the responsibility of the opposition. If DP had democratic standards, it would not vote for Basha again. I have said that the opposition should be in complete contrast to the government. If Rama does not make elections in the party and does not leave, the chairman of the PD should leave.
Ylli Rakipi: Let’s stay at Rama, because we will also talk about the opposition. We are in the third term, it is thought that Rama will win again and he will reign. How do you see Rama, has he done good or bad for Albania?
Blendi Fevziu: Staying in power for a long time calcifies a leader. Change and rotation does a country good. Here it is complicated by the fact that you have to defeat the other by choice. The excuse that there is no choice because he leaves no choice makes no sense. Rama has exhausted the main part of what he could give. At the moment, he doesn’t have much nerve to deal with the administration of the country, he deals more with foreign policy. Brenda is more involved in tourism, which I am not against. But I don’t know if Rama has anything more to give. I am convinced that the extension of power is not good news for anyone.
Ylli Rakipi: But, he is a great master, they show him as such even for lobbying.
Blendi Fevziu: Rama was different, he ran away from the model of the strict and serious politician. He heralded an era of his own that we did not notice at first.

Fevziu stated that Erion Veliaj is an important political figure in the SP and that he could be next if Rama leaves the political scene. Fevziu said that Veliaj is a very strong character politically and cannot be easily avoided from the political scene, because he runs the largest municipality in the country and with great power.
“Do not be surprised that if there is a departure of Rama, Veliaj will come. It is a candidacy that has put what we call the “milk bottle”. Veliaj’s term ends at the end of the next 4-year term, so he must find a solution within the SP.
In 2027, if the SP wins the 2025 elections, what role will Veliaj have, the SP must find a candidacy for the municipality of Tirana, because candidacies start 2-3 years in advance. The candidacy of Arbian Maznik, who withdrew from the municipality of Tirana precisely to prepare for a possible mayor, has been talked about, if that is the case. These are guesses that we are not in Rama’s head and he does not discuss them with anyone. It is not surprising that he has attracted Gonxhe as a possible candidate for mayor of Tirana. It is not surprising that in this three-year period he will run another candidacy.
I think that Veliaj is very strong politically. He is the mayor of the municipality of Tirana, the largest in the country, with many funds, a municipality with great power all around, he is a man who has created a rift within the SP. Rama can melt any politician at the moment. He within the SP is all-powerful and whoever clashes with him within 24 hours “hides”. It is not so easy with Veliaj because he is the head of the municipality of Tirana, he cannot remove him from the municipality. At least 3 more years, he will continue to remain and Rama has no reason to start a surrealist battle,” said Blendi Fevziu.
