PS candidate, Vangjel Tavo, is the new mayor of Himara Municipality. Vangjel Tavo secured victory with 1477 more votes than his rival in the race, Petro Gjikuria.
The counting of the boxes in the 36 voting centers in the Himarë Municipality ended at 06:59 this morning (August 5).
According to the official result of the Central Election Commission, Vangjel Tavo secured the Himar Municipality with 5022 votes.
Meanwhile, the DP candidate, Petro Gjikuria, received 3545 votes.
After the victory, he was received by his sympathizers, Petro Beleri, the son of Blair, who followed the process until the end, was also an observer. While Tavo thanked everyone, he invited Petro Gjikurina to cooperate in becoming the deputy mayor.
“Himara won today, the Himarjotes won, I want to thank everyone for the patience they had to listen to us during the campaign and for voting for me. From today we start working on all that we promised the residents, all left and right, problems have no color, all united. The offer was sincere, if Gjikuria does not leave for America, he is welcome to become deputy mayor, the municipality needs left and right-wing people”, said Tavo.
