Journalist Arion Sulo calls Prime Minister Edi Rama’s statement on the possibility of Albania joining the European Union by 2030 a “fairy tale” and a populist act.
Sulo stressed that this process could take much longer than expected. According to him, this is a process that could take 7, 8, 9, or even 10 years, and that Rama’s words about a possible membership by 2030 are untenable.
He also spoke about the situation in Tirana, where he says there are many empty apartments and that the city continues to be concreted without the possibility of sustainable development.
“Rama says that we will enter the EU in 2030. How can I believe him when 2030 is the year of another mandate? This is a process that could take 7-8-9-10 years. This is populism, it is a fairy tale. Tirana has 50 thousand empty apartments, no one buys the towers and they are being built again. The city has been concreted,” said Arion Sulo.
