The head of the ‘Albania Becomes’ Movement, Adriatik Lapaj, has expressed hope that people will support his initiative, saying that the time for change has come.
Invited to News24, Lapaj “if people don’t trust us, it means that the problem is with us”.
“I strongly believe that the time for change has come. Every day when I meet people, mostly older people, I am charged with a responsibility greater than everyday life. The fact that I am calmer in the way I speak is also because of the advice they give me, I reflect. Meetings are worth it to get advice.
I have extraordinary expectations for the citizens of our country, they have not disappointed me. In this initiative, people will support us and will not leave us in the mud. If people don’t trust us, it means that the problem is with us,” he said.
Lapaj also spoke about the program where he said that they will unveil it in the fall and that property will be a priority.
“The program will unfold in the fall and the main priority will be the property,” he said while adding that the team is expanding day by day.
Among other things, he said that in next year’s elections they will compete with 140 candidates for deputies.
“We will compete with 140 deputies. Any man or woman can run, age does not matter, as long as they have not put their hands in the citizens’ pockets.
Today we are on the move, we are open to the left and the right, in accordance with the principles, we have submitted two draft laws to the parliament, one for the vote of immigrants and one for the opening of the lists. “Starting next week, we will go out and collect 20,000 signatures to take it to the CEC as a citizen’s initiative,” he said.
Lapaj stopped and the diaspora, saying that the Albanians of America have an incredible connection with Albania.
“Albanians in America have an incredible connection with Albania. I have met over 2 thousand and they considered returning to Albania, if the rule of law returns. This is done with people, girls and boys. Our strength lies in union and ideas. I don’t believe that people expect us to think that Adriatik shares jobs or is a millionaire, but they come out for ideas and principles. This is the biggest victory we have achieved. We have broken this cliché that says the Albanian does not go out for principle, but for interest”, he said.
