Lulzim Basha will participate in the May 11 elections under the logo of the new party “Euroatlantic Democrats”. The news was given in Ditarin with Bruna Çifligu by journalist Albi Xhunga, according to whom this party is already registered in court. Xhunga stated that this will be the main opposition force after May 11, while accusing Berisha of open collaboration with Rama.
“He will participate with the logo of the Euroatlantic Democrats party and as of the moment we are speaking it is registered in court. I think that if this political formation cannot take power, it is impossible to take power in a reality where Berisha and Rama are in open collaboration, but I am convinced that the main opposition force after May 11 will be the Euroatlantic Democrats with or without a coalition. I think that a third political pole and a second opposition pole will be created. Now we have the formal opposition of Berisha, but with political acts and positions they show that they are not in opposition”, said Xhunga on A2 CNN.
Xhunga did not rule out a coalition of Alebeaj with Basha in the May 11 elections, where they will compete with open lists.
“We are dealing with pure politics. Alibeaj is anti-Berisha. In this coalition, they will compete with open lists and who will enter parliament with their own votes”.
Meanwhile, according to Xhunga, the party of Endri Shabani and Arlind Qori will leave politics after the May 11 elections. He links this belief to the fact that according to him they are a party of leaders seeking a coalition with Adriatik Lapaj.
“Two individuals cannot be a political party, they have remained in the hands of Lapaj for a possible coalition because they cannot find candidates for the electoral zones in Albania”.
Bringing to attention the court decision that gave the seal to Berisha, Xhunga says that it is unfair because it has overthrown the electoral structure of the Albanian state.
“There is a clash in the DP, an unfair decision of the Court of Appeal has taken away the right to the seal and given it to Berisha. These judges have overthrown the Albanian state, they have not obeyed a decision of the Supreme Court. They have overthrown the electoral structure of the Albanian state. The municipal councilors who were elected with Alibeaj’s signature today are illegal. This decision must be corrected if not by the Supreme Court, by Strasbourg.”
