Socialist MP Erion Braçe sees his presence on the open list of Tirana as a challenge and a battle that he will win.
“With or without grace, you will have me in Parliament,” the leftist senator said in a video post on the social network Facebook today (March 18), as he began work on the campaign.
And he describes his battle as “for citizens, the elderly, pensions, honor, dignity and well-being.”
He explains that he has always fought for the elderly, even since 2016 with the ministers of finance (among them Arben Ahmetaj), whom he said were afraid of the figures and ended up leaving most of the budget unused, harming pensioners with bonuses.
Erion Braçe’s Facebook post:
“I told you I would be in battle! Battles take time, so you have to wake up early!
Battles require substance, content! I want to be in the Assembly to continue the battle for the elderly, their income, their pensions; a battle of honor, dignity and well-being for them! Now the strongmen of the “you were there, why didn’t you do it” network will throw themselves at my throat; they are all those who don’t know who you are, what you did and how you did it, how you voted.
But of course, I am ready to prove to everyone what I have removed from the minds of the Finance Ministers, the budgetary balance of numbers stuck in their heads as fear, but also as a burden; from 2016 onwards to defend a high bonus for the elderly, when the pension reform did not solve the great problem of low income for all those who had retired before her-reform; faced with ministers who “took care” of the budget and at the end of the year left 40, 50, 60, 100, 430 million euros unused!
I will fight this battle in the Assembly, this time without rules, without asking about them; I have heard enough, waited, analyzed, reflected and in the end there has been no decision, waiting for the ministers to think and think! There is no more time for those who are worse off today, but there is no more time for those who are better off today, and they will be retired tomorrow!
This battle is started by the big employers, those who have accumulated the largest number of employees, those who lie the most, commit the biggest tax evasion and who do not let pensioners receive what is due to them; with them and whoever comes to your aid, this battle is! For every elderly person, including my parents, everyone who receives less or a pension of 20 thousand lek! The reason for being a deputy has nothing to do with becoming a minister; yes to the representation of people!”
