The deputy of the Socialist Party, Toni Gogu, invited to the show “Kjo Javë” on News 24, said that the punishment of the former high official of the FBI, Charles McGonigal, cannot interfere in Albania. McGonigal was sentenced to 26 months in prison for the $225,000 he received from the Albanian-American, Agron Neza.
“I’m glad that Mr. Basha’s voice came to him regarding American justice, as I have the impression that he must have some scores to settle with them. The McGonigal case is an American case despite the fact that part of the activity took place in our country. It is an issue that occurred under American jurisdiction, while here our law enforcement agencies have taken action. I do not believe that when an American official violates the law of his country in a foreign country, there cannot be repercussions for the citizens of our country”, said Gogu.
