The sports journalist of the Albanian Radio and Television, Ervin Baku, seems to have awakened national voices on social networks, since in a link on Euronews, he appeared wearing a Serbian jersey during the live broadcast.
This act has evoked numerous reactions with patriotic feelings commenting on the journalist’s action.
But on the other hand, RTSH journalist Ervin Baku shows the reasons why he appeared in direct connection with the Serbian jersey
Baku justified his action by saying that he did not make this appearance with any intention.
In the “Rreth e Rrotull” show, he apologized for this action of his, saying that he separates sports from politics.
“I am a sports person, this is the jersey I wore as it was a gift from the Serbian women’s volleyball coach who held the Balkan championship in Tirana last month.
I had no preconceived notions or hindsight, I have proven my patriotism many times, I have flown the flag of Albania in Belgrade and Strumica in Macedonia.
I raised the “Cham issue” in the European Parliament for the first time in 2006 in Strasbourg”, Baku declared.
According to Baku, sport is peace and not war.
“Sport is peace, not war. Serbia should apologize to Kosovo for the crimes against humanity… I’m not doing it to show off, it was just sport, it was a sports shirt.
I separate sport from politics. I apologize to anyone and everyone, I did nothing on purpose. It was in the context of sports. For me, sport unites and builds bridges”, he continued.
Baku has provoked many reactions, after his appearance in a direct link in Euronwes Albania, wearing the jersey of Serbia.
Immediately after the framing in direct connection, the journalist Thimi Samarxhiu asked him if this is a provocation, but he denied that it was such a thing.
“Baku, is the blouse you’re wearing a provocation or not”, was the question addressed to Samarxhiu?
Sports journalist Baku tried to justify this action, saying that he is a man who tries to build bridges and not to destroy bridges.
