Talat Xhaferi was voted as the first Albanian Prime Minister in North Macedonia. After debates and discussions in the Assembly, the deputies voted with 65 votes in favor, 3 against and no abstentions.
VMRO-DPMNE deputies, although they were in the hall, did not vote for the technical government, while the Albanian opposition deputies were not present in the hall.
The technical government of Talat Xhafer will be in operation for 100 days and aims to organize and run the parliamentary elections scheduled for May 8.
Xhaferi said that regardless of how long he will be in charge of the Government, he will do everything to fulfill his obligations, in accordance with the Constitution and the expectations of the citizens.
“The first priority will be the organization of parliamentary and presidential elections in an orderly and democratic manner. For me as a representative, regardless of whether I will lead this Government for one day or 100 days, I will carry out this duty, this responsibility and the trust given to me responsibly, just as I did with the other challenges that were before me. For no moment will I let go of what an efficient, functional and responsible Government means. The Government and I will continue to work for the successful and efficient implementation of the government’s policies”, said Xhaferi.
