Ermonela Felaj, a member of parliament for the Socialist Party, was invited to the show “The Unexposed” on MCN TV.

She was asked by Ylli Rakipi about the senior exponents of the Socialist Party who have been convicted or suspected of corrupt acts and the responsibility of the party leadership for this.

Rakipi: Many of your exponents are in prison, under investigation, or accused of corruption and others. Ilir Beqaj, Erion Veliaj, Arben Ahmetaj on the run, Alqi Bllako, Jurgis Çyrbja, Lefter Koka, etc., etc. So this party produces many people suspected and convicted of corruption. What do you say to Albanians about this?

Felaj: It’s good that you nominated them, because by nominating them you also accompanied them with hand movements and I saw that you didn’t go to the fingers of one hand, but even if you had gone..

Rakipi: No, I used both.

Felaj: Still, this does not justify at all what you claimed as true.

Rakipi: Minister, how many fingers on both hands are…

Felaj: It is not true that there are many. The SP is of at least 800 thousand Albanians, you know Mr. Rakipi? It cannot be 4 people, 40, 400 if you want…

Rakipi: I am not asking you about the deep roots of the SP, because we know them.

Felaj: This is my answer.

Rakipi: You have the mayor of the capital in prison.

Felaj: Each of them is facing the court, the prosecutor’s office.

Rakipi (shows the photo on the LED): Look at them! Raise your head!

Felaj: Each of us has his own figure, has his own responsibility.

Rakipi: No one is accusing you, you are fine. I am asking you about these. Their responsibility is legal, the Prime Minister says so. There is also a political responsibility. What is the political responsibility for these people?

Felaj: Political responsibility lies in reflecting from time to time to make new figures and people part of the SP and the government. That’s it. The SP has not opposed justice and has not interfered in their work. The fact that the Special Prosecution Office manages to strike at high levels shows that the justice reform has achieved its goal.

Rakipi: The former deputy prime minister, number two, describes the government as a criminal organization and Edi Rama as its leader. What do you think about this statement?

Felaj: I have no comment on the gentleman who was my colleague. If I were to speak as a legal professional, my invitation is that he should deal with all this with the justice bodies. This does not mean anything to anyone.
