The political leader of the Democratic Party for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, declared today that the protest called by the DP on December 23 will have some innovations in addition to past protests.
Invited to the “Log” show on News 24, Këlliçi emphasized that one of the biggest changes will be the physical participation of the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, who was released from house arrest a few weeks ago.
Këlliçi announced that the protest will start at 5:00 PM and some of the main streets of the capital will be blocked. He specified that the protest will be localized in at least five different places in Tirana, warning of the possibility of clashes with police forces, as has happened in previous protests.
“The protest on December 23 will start at 5:00 PM, there will be a blockage of several main axes in the capital. Tirana is already paralyzed by traffic every evening. The novelty will be the presence of Mr. Berisha, it will be the first time he participates in the protest after being under house arrest for 333 days … that said, the chances are that we will again have a scenario with confrontations and clashes.
Either SPAK will close the door, or the Tirana mayor’s office will close the door. It is a protest that will be organized in at least 5 locations, I will be located at the Tirana municipality. We will have more or less a similar scenario to the November protest.” – said Këlliçi.
