The Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, reacted after the opposition blocked the Electoral Reform Commission.
Through a post on Facebook, Spiropali says that whoever thinks that “the Electoral Reform Commission is an “instrument to face this government and this prime minister” has two ways: Or to prepare now for the imminent failure in this” confrontation” or to change without wasting time the wrong conception of such an instance.
The minister emphasizes that the Socialist Party welcomes any idea or alternative platform of all deputies, but excludes those who block the assembly, while saying that the SP also has its own ideas.

If the Electoral Reform Commission is an “instrument to confront this government and this prime minister”, then whoever thinks so without a proposal has two ways:
Either prepare now for the imminent failure in this “confrontation” – and together with the failure face the end of the era of bipartisan electoral reform commissions – or change without wasting time the wrong conception of such an instance, understand now, quickly, that the commissions set up for consensual legal products are not set up to confront the goat horn by horn, but to dialogue political opponents in search of compromises accepted by the parties involved in the commission.

While the confrontation with this government and this prime minister, the several oppositions that we have in today’s parliament of overturned chairs, flamboyants or sleepers, will have it in June next year. Not in the electoral reform commission. And they will definitely have the opportunity to realize it and enjoy it until the end, as they have realized and enjoyed it in the last 8 election confrontations since 2013.
