Democratic Party MP Dashnor Sula has commented on the merger of the “Albania Becomes” movement and the “Weaving Initiative”, led by Adriatik Lapaj and Endrit Shabani, calling it a political mistake, while calling them “political fools”.
Invited to the lunch program on News24, Sula stated that the new opposition forces should join the Democratic Party to have a real impact on the political scene and to challenge the majority.
“Being in the opposition requires the support of a large opposition force like the DP. Neither dignity nor integrity is violated within an opposition camp. The common enemy is the majority and we all must be united,” – declared Sula.
Ironizing the ambitions of the new political leaders, he added: “I also dream of Monica Bellucci, but it doesn’t mean I have a girlfriend. In their dreams, they can see themselves as prime minister, but you can’t become one.”
According to him, the fragmentation of the opposition harms the battle against the government and invites these political forces to reconsider their stance in relation to the DP.
“They made a mistake for me. If I were young like these others. Endrit Shabani…they are stupid. It’s stupid! They are political stupid! Being in the opposition, every new force needs the support of a large opposition force, like the DP. Neither your dignity nor your integrity is violated within an opposition camp. You have the opportunity to be an opposition within your program and political idea. The biggest enemy today is the majority and against this, all of us, despite the divisions, must unite in one camp. If we don’t keep our word tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, you leave the government and give the opposition a chance. This is what is good for Albania. If you see personal interest in becoming an MP, it is the biggest mistake,” said Sula.
