The well-known journalist, Martin Leka, has come with a heartfelt confession in the “Gallery” column in “E Diell”.

From the difficult history of the family with 9 children in the villages of Lezha, to the years of democracy, the attack on the newspaper “Koha Jonë” and the imprisonment where she shared a cell with Fatos Nano, Leka says that the difficult period of serving the sentence seems to her as if it happened yesterday.

“In prison, they changed my cell 3 times. The first two days I lived with Hajred Celik and Llambi Gegeprifti. After two days, the door rang and he said ‘you’re here, thief?’. He left. It was Fatos Nano. I was in the area where Fatosi, Nexhmija was and Ramiz. I spent two nights with them. Then the door rang. It was Ramiz Alia. He said: ‘Did you come here to do my interview?’ Yes, I told him. Before he was arrested, I was at his place to interview him, but he told me ‘we’ll do it later,'” says Leka.

Among other things, the journalist tells details about his imprisonment, which happened years ago. He says that before he was imprisoned he also had a conversation with Dritëro Agolli, the latter asked him if he would surrender or not.

“The imprisonment seems to me to have happened yesterday. Frangaj and I were imprisoned as leaders of ‘Koha Jonë’. On January 21, 30 years ago, I published an article in ‘Koha Jonë’ that together with the facsimile of the interior minister of that time ordered the removal of officers’ personal weaponry. In this article it was said that every officer today weighs 2 kg less. I was in Gjadër, there had been a murder and I was told by an officer who had been present in the bar where the murder had happened. Someone told him ‘yes you who were here why didn’t you intervene with a shot in the air?’ He said they have taken away our weapons. Here he caught my ear and I found the facsimile. The day I was about to be arrested I met Dritëro Agolli and he asked me ‘what are you going to do?’ he says.
