The Italian ship with the first 16 immigrants has arrived in Shengjin according to the agreement reached between Albania and Italy.
The immigrants, who are from North Africa, arrived this morning around 07:50 at the port of Shengjin.
They gave you a few medical checks before disembarking. Under strict security measures, the 16 immigrants were escorted to the reception center set up in Shengjin.
The immigrants will stay for about 24 hours at the reception center in Shengjin, and then they will be sent to the Gjadri camp, where they will stay for several weeks until their documentation is reviewed by the Italian side.
The internal perimeter of the reception center in Shengjin and the camp in Gjadër is entirely the responsibility of the Italian Carabinieri, while the external perimeter is managed by the Albanian Police.
