The chairman of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, from the presidency of the Assembly, has called on the opposition MPs not to side with Prime Minister Edi Rama for the approval of the Electoral Reform.
Mediu: Edi Rama does not have 84 votes in the parliament. I want to appeal to every MP of the opposition who received the vote and the opposition not to join a farce to destroy the elections. Any unilateral agreement with the government does not aim at free and fair elections. I want to mention one more fact, there was a period of time that the SP had 84 votes for the reform alone. But because of an agreement for a bipartisan commission, it was agreed that the interests of a single entity would not be used.
In addition to being bipartisan, this commission also has its own proportionality.
When PL at that time LSI had 19 deputies, there were 2 representatives in the Electoral Reform Commission. I appeal to my opposition colleagues that the first agreement is within the opposition.
