The administrator of the company that imported meat infected with salmonella bacteria from Brazil is wanted.
His brother is being prosecuted for the criminal offense of “Importing, producing, selling and storing food dangerous to human health or life” as well as 3 inspectors of the National Food Agency for the criminal offense of “Abuse of office”.
The Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section at the Tirana Criminal Investigation Department, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, conducted investigative and procedural actions in relation to the case of the importation into our country of a quantity of food products containing salmonella and, following the actions, citizen A. G., 50 years old, (administrator of a private company) was declared wanted, and the following citizens were criminally prosecuted: M. G., 53 years old (brother of the 50-year-old), G. H., 38 years old, S. L., 42 years old and A. S., 46 years old.
The investigative actions resulted in the citizen A. G., in the capacity of the company administrator, together with his brother citizen M. G., having imported food products which, based on the analyses by the relevant institutions, resulted in the content of salmonella bacteria.
Citizens G. H., S. L., and A. S., in their capacity as AKU inspectors, by their actions and inactions, have allowed the introduction of these products into the market.
The procedural materials were forwarded to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
