Adriatik Lapaj stated in the “Ditar” studio on A2 CNN that the Albanian army “is the only one in the world that has the same number of officers as soldiers”.
“In every country in the world, the army has 10 officers for 1000 soldiers. In Albania there are officers, they are soldiers. We have no more than 4,000 soldiers under arms. Today we have the lowest per capita military budget in the region. We don’t have an army”, emphasized Lapaj.
“Half of the Albanian soldiers have requested to be released from the army and they are not allowed because they have contracts and it is considered desertion. They are not allowed, they are kept with difficulty. This happens because the salaries are what they are, the conditions are what they are and there is no perspective”, added Lapaj.
According to him, from this the citizens should understand the importance of the partnership with the USA, because when it comes to “bayonets from Belgrade, we ask for America; when it comes to internal affairs, we say why is America messing with us”.
