The holy month of Ramadan has begun, where all Muslims have one of the greatest obligations to fast for 30 days of this month, depriving themselves of food and everything else nutritious from sunrise to sunset.

The month of Ramadan is considered the holy month after the holy book of the Quran was revealed.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. The date changes every year because Islam uses a lunar calendar (based on the cycles of the moon), so it is not a fixed date in the Gregorian or solar calendar.

During Ramadan, it is customary to eat a meal (known as suhoor) just before dawn and another meal (known as iftar) just after sunset.

At the end of the fast, when the sun has set, families and friends will gather for iftar to break their fast, often starting with water and dates.
