Shpresa Krëku, the 41-year-old woman who poisoned herself on Wednesday morning, is said to have drunk phostoxin after a fight with her husband.
The 41-year-old had argued with her husband Çlirim Krëku, on the phone, since the latter had been living in Thessaloniki, Greece for 1 year.
Before undertaking the act, Shpresa Krëku called her brother, leaving the children in trust.
“I can’t do it anymore, brother, leave the children,” she told him, and then she drank 3 grains of Fostoxin.
After the call from the 41-year-old woman, her brother immediately went to her apartment in the village of Bilçë in Berat, where he found her in critical condition.
He first sent him to the Berat Regional Hospital and then he was transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, where he was found dead 15 minutes after arrival.
The cause of the self-poisoning of the mother of two children is still a mystery, while the age notice does not mention the name of the husband, only the parents, brother and children.
The 41-year-old asked in the last moments of her life to be buried in the village of Banaj near her family.
