Two other directors of the municipality of Tirana were arrested yesterday, while several other officials are being pursued under other security measures. Mariglen Qato and Redjan Molla ended up in handcuffs, while Enton Punavija, Julian Zanaj, Albano Janku, Nestor Muhamellari and Debora Keçi were forced to appear.
The arrests were published yesterday afternoon, while the Municipal Council of Tirana was meeting. In some photos captured in the 4th minute of the meeting, Veliaj reads the newly published news on his mobile phone and his face breaks down. Then he calls an assistant, says something in his ear, and after staying for a while, leaves the running of the meeting to vice president Seferi.
These are the next directors arrested by SPAK in the municipality of Tirana, after Taulant Tuša and another for the incinerator affair, while the opposition demands the arrest of Veliaj, for whom, former deputy prime minister Arben Ahmetaj, declared that he is the actual owner of non-existent incinerator.
