The head of the PD, Lulzim Basha, expressed his determination that the Court will decide in favor of the official PD, for the party’s seal and emblem.
“First, PD is official. Our legal team has taken the appropriate steps. The chances of this reality changing in accordance with the law are zero. Because this debate has been exhausted, GJL’s own arguments have shown that the debate has been exhausted. There is no chance that the decision will be taken in favor of the re-establishment. Therefore, we see a story that on the one hand shows nervousness and on the other hand imposes itself on the court. We believe that in reality the law will not change anything. The call for the other party is to accept the decision”, said Basha in the show “Kjo Javë”.
Regarding the crisis in DP, Basha said that it was a difficult period, but he emphasized that he learned many lessons.
“It was a difficult period, but we learned many lessons. Politics needs renewal. For example, open lists serve two purposes, one is that citizens bring to parliament what they want and second, they dictate a much more accurate reality than the more relative primary. In this way, it renews the political elite and promotes internal competition. In the conditions Albania is in, it seems utopian, but we must give the Albanians something to believe in, to reconnect the broken threads.
We have a DP and a part that overlaps the interests of the Democrats for a personal agenda. The way out of this situation is the union for the interests of the Democrats.
The political judgment starts from what is good for me and for the other, but what is good for DP and the citizens. Basically, the political processes have been and the disputes have been of this nature. What unites us or divides us is that what is good for Albanians is good for PD.
The crisis has been damaging to our image and credibility. Therefore, our effort has been to rebuild trust for the citizens, with the citizens. We have made the decision that today the instructions of the presidency will be distributed for the start of the process of recording candidacies for MPs”, said Basha.
