He should have been enjoying his summer vacation, at the lake or the coast, but 14-year-old Ardis Plisi has chosen to work throughout the summer to help his family financially.
With his culture and generosity, not only at work, he also gave a good image to Shiroka, the neighborhood where he lives in Shkodër, but also to Albania, showing the best values of our people.
Two days ago, Ardisi found on the table where he was serving a bag containing money and documents of a Belgian tourist.
“There were cards, a lot of lek, plane tickets, and many other important documents. Why not give it back? My parents taught me that foreign things return to God,” said the 14-year-old.
“I hired him directly because he is a resourceful guy, he keeps the whole bar for me. He works 16 hours a day. I really liked the gesture”, said the owner of the bar.
Only when she arrived in Theth to pay for the hotel, the Belgian Katrine Fabianne noticed that her bag was missing, losing all hope for money, bank cards and passports.
Dozens of Albanians, the tourist says, have contacted me to help me.
“In the evening in Theth, I went to the car to get the bag and it wasn’t there. I told my boyfriend that I forgot my bag in Shiroka, and he replied: Now we are done. I tried to find the bar online and call it but it was impossible. We started to return to Shkodër when suddenly dozens and dozens of messages arrived on my phone, on Facebook, from Albanians who had seen the post about the found bag online.
They informed me that a young man had found it and sent it to the police, then I went to the police station and took everything I had lost. Not even in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that something like this could happen. I am very very grateful to Ardis. Unlike what we hear in Europe about Albanians, here I found something else. Fantastic people”, declared the tourist.
In another story, two years ago, in Shkodër, 16-year-old Erind Shkambaj found a wallet with over 6,000 euros on the ground and handed it to an Italian tourist who had lost it. (TCH)
