The co-chairman of the Commission for Electoral Reform, Enkelejd Alibeaj, in a media conference before the meeting of the commission, called on all fellow opposition MPs to participate.
According to him, this commission and participation in it is an instrument to confront the government. Alibeaj said that he does not undertake to be a representative of other opposition parties.
Alibeaj openly expressed that anyone from the opposition has proposals, they are open to discuss them.
“My appeal to everyone is to participate because we have an obligation, an obligation for those who believe in the opposition and those who are against this government. It is an instrument to face this government and this prime minister.
I am the co-chairman of this commission requested by DP a year and a half ago. The majority did not want the establishment of this commission. To be honest and realistic, I am a representative of the Democratic Party, I do not undertake to represent the interests of other opposition parties.
For this reason, I said, those four issues that we have drafted are not a closed circle that cannot be enriched or added with other proposals.
Each of the members of the opposition Commission, if they have ideas, how the vote of the Albanians should be equal, how the lists should be perfected, how the vote of the immigrants should be guaranteed, they have the right and are even welcome to bring these proposals. I am drunk that we see, analyze and have a common position in front of the majority.
Whatever kind of skepticism we have towards the co-chairman, we have only one obligation. Albanians want open lists, they want the vote of immigrants to be enabled, they want counting and electronic voting. This is the test I have. We will have to get out of this narrow veil”, said Alibeaj, who emphasized that “I have the confidence of the PD”.
