The writer and translator, Edmond Tupja, previously invited in an interview on RTSH, said that the Albanian language is experiencing very difficult and dramatic moments so much so that after 100 years the Albanian will ask the Albanian: “Do you speak Albanian?”

“The issue lies in the fact that Albanian, also due to globalization, is going downhill. After 100 years, the Albanian will ask the Albanian: “do you know how to speak Albanian”?
You have to react. The lexicon of the Albanian language is being bombarded, whole words are disappearing. The Prime Minister is the first to distort Albanian with words that he does not know where to find them. There is no longer a subjunctive in the Albanian language.

The inhabitant is languishing. Hiding. Media captions are drama. They are functionally illiterate. The tongue is wrinkling,” said Tupja.
