A 40-year-old Albanian citizen was found dead in the early hours of the morning in the Menidhi area of Athens.
The police said that the body of the 40-year-old woman was found in the street with a knife in her body. Sources say that the victim’s name is Enkelejda Danaj, from Vlora.
The main suspect in the murder is 50-year-old Eduart Danaj from Vlora. He is suspected of having massacred his ex-husband, Enkelejda Danaj, with a knife and left him in the middle of the road.
The victim is reported to have filed three reports of domestic violence against her ex-husband.
Her first complaint against her ex-husband was made on April 3, 2013, where the woman reported domestic violence.
The second report was filed on September 18, 2022, where the victim denounced her husband for threats, physical injury and verbal abuse. Citizen E. D. was arrested again and sent to the Prosecutor’s Office. The 50-year-old was forbidden to live with the victim, based on a court order, but it is reported that she herself had allowed him to live together since 2018.
The last complaint was made on May 7, 2024 again for domestic violence (threats, physical injury and verbal abuse). The Albanian was arrested and sent to the prosecutor’s office.
Enkelejda Danaj has been given information, instructions and printed materials to receive, if she wishes, the necessary material assistance from the competent bodies.
In addition, she was informed about the possibility of installing the “Panic Button” application on her mobile phone and was given a code to access the said application.
At the same time, she was informed about the possibility of her transfer to a receiving facility, but she stated that she did not want to.
