New figures, political protagonists who have not been engaged in the front line of politics, have decided to run in what can be considered pre-elections, the primaries of the Democratic Party or the “Deputy We Want” in the Socialist Party, or other political parties with the aim of competing in the May 11 elections.
Part of the discussion panel yesterday evening at Opinion were representatives of four political formations in our country, among them was Ermand Mertenika from the Socialist Party who is competing in the “Deputy We Want!”.
During his speech, in addition to his model and goal, Mertenika did not hesitate to express the consideration he has for Prime Minister Edi Rama. But, while enthusiastically expressing his sympathy for the head of government, whom he described as a politician with culture, ethics and sportsmanship, he was confronted with the retorts of Alesia Balliu, who is running in the Democratic Party primaries.
Excerpts from the debate:
Ermand Mertenika: This is my role model. I have actually said that Prime Minister Rama is a role model for me. I know why, Prime Minister Rama is a role model. Because we have seen an Albania 15 years ago and an Albania today.
Alesia Balliu: Yes, this is shameful to be in a television studio and say that Edi Rama is an inspiration when half of the government is in prison. What is the inspiration for? For theft, corruption? You are definitely the MP we don’t want!
Ermand Mertenika: Wait until I explain!
Alesia Balliu: You are definitely the MP we don’t want!
Ermand Mertenika: A good example of a politician and a deputy is calmness, communication, culture and ethics.
Alesia Balliu: Ethics is when you don’t steal, when you don’t commit corruption, when you don’t have half of the government in SPAK, sir.
Ermand Mertenika: Then listen, we are young. In this television appearance we express ourselves very well, who is cultured.
Alesia Balliu: He appears on television so that he doesn’t become a Veliaj pentito.
Ermand Mertenika: Alesja, listen to me. The model of a politician today is culture, how to be tolerant so as not to offend each other.
Alesia Balliu: Answer me a question, Edi Rama is the prime minister of the country, half of the government is in prison. What inspiration does it give you as a young person?
Ermand Mertenika: The PS had it yesterday and the day before, it had it before. Edi Rama, Prime Minister Rama, is the leader that I prefer. I’m also into basketball, Rama is also an athlete. The art of making very beautiful things
Alesia Balliu: What answer is this hour
