After the opposition protest in Tirana, where flares and Molotov cocktails were thrown, the general secretary of the DP, Flamur Noka, the head of the Group, Gazment Bardhi, and the organizational secretary, Ervin Minarolli, have been criminally prosecuted.
The DP officials were prosecuted at large for the criminal offense of “Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations”.
The Local Directorate of the Tirana Police, in relation to the protest held on 07.10.2024, at 18:00, on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard, following the investigative and procedural actions carried out at the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance Before the General Jurisdiction of Tirana:
-arrested the citizen in the act: Xh. Rr., 57 years old, resident in Tirana, for the criminal offenses “Assaults due to duty” and “Destruction of property by fire”;
-proceeded in a state of freedom against citizens F. D., 31 years old, and 2 minor citizens aged 16 and 17 years old, residents of Tirana, for the criminal offenses of “Disturbance of public order and peace”, “Destruction of property” and “Opposition to an employee” of the public order police”;
In the same way, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office and the proceedings started in a free state for the criminal offense “Organization and participation in illegal gatherings and demonstrations” (Article 262 of the Criminal Code, first paragraph), for the citizens: Flamur Noka, general secretary of the Democratic Party; Gazment Bardhi, chairman of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party and Ervin Minarolli, organizational secretary of the Democratic Party.
Also, efforts are being made to capture citizens K. K., 43 years old, M. T., 24 years old, I. T., 49 years old, A. P., 46 years old, S. B., 49 years old, D. N., 62 years old, K. B., 22 years old, H. V., 68 years old, and a 17-year-old minor citizen, suspected of the criminal offenses “Disturbance of public peace”, “Assaults due to duty”, “Destruction of property by fire”, “Destruction of property”, “Violation of rules on explosives and incendiary substances ” and “Opposition of the public order police officer”, provided by articles 274, 237, 151, 150, 282 and 236 of the Criminal Code.
Yesterday, the protesters initially gathered on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard, in front of the Prime Minister’s Office. Afterwards, they moved to the headquarters of the Socialist Party, the building of the Ministry of the Interior, the building of the Municipality of Tirana, the Parliament of Albania and during the journey, the protesters destroyed private and public property, threw explosive fuel and hard objects in the direction of employees of the Police and the buildings of public institutions. They also damaged advertising boards and burned garbage cans.
As a result of the attacks with hard objects, pyrotechnics and Molotov bombs, on the police officers and the buildings of the state institutions, 10 police officers were injured, of which 7 after medical assistance left the apartment, while the other 3 are being treated in the hospital. hospital and are out of danger for life.
Also, 2 citizens (father and daughter), who were allegedly injured with explosives (Molotov cocktails) and are out of danger, went to the hospital for medical help.
The following were seized as material evidence:
– 68 cracked flakkadan remains;
– 23 plastic pieces of burnt bottles;
– 3 plastic bottles of water;
– 3 cracked smokers;
– 1 bottle of 0.5 liter fuel with unexploded pyrotechnic material;
– 1 black bag with 8 0.5 liter plastic bottles with fuel (molotov);
– 1 cylindrical canister box;
– 2 bags with 17 0.5 liter canisters with suspected incendiary material attached to unexploded pyrotechnic material (Molotov cocktails).
The investigative structures of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, continue the work to identify and arrest other citizens involved in violent acts during yesterday’s protest.
