The former mayor of Fushë Arrëzi, Fran Tuci, who was sentenced to 1.6 years in prison by GJKKO for abuse of office, has been released from his cell.
The former socialist mayor has served his sentence in custody. Fran Truci benefited from a shortened trial and his sentence was reduced to 1 year in prison.
Also, the black squads have taken away the right to exercise public functions for 5 years.
Fran Tuci and the former Administrator of the Iballe Administrative Unit, Ndoc Marku, were arrested on July 13, 2023 and charged with “abuse of duty”.
Meanwhile, the businessman Margjeka is still wanted for the charge of ‘illegal construction’, since he was not found for the execution of the mandatory appearance measure, on the charge that he carried out the work on the ground with heavy equipment.
Damage 234 million ALL
According to SPAK, the investigations have shown that in the territory of the Fushë Arrëz Municipality, in violation of the legal framework in force, a new road segment of about 1.8 km and width of about 5 m has been opened, which has encroached on a significant area of the forest fund in ownership of this Municipality and has seriously damaged the terrain belonging to this forest fund.
The damage calculated by IKMT Shkodër, after the field inspection, is the significant value of 234,007,500 ALL, which includes the damage to the terrain as well as the deforestation of the surface registered with ASHK, Pukë Local Directorate, as “Forest” property owned by Fushë-Arrez municipality.
“From the analysis of the evidence gathered during the preliminary investigation, it turns out that it is proven that the defendants Fran Tuci and Ndoc Marku, in cooperation between them, with illegal actions and omissions which constitute a regular failure to fulfill their duties, have resulted in directly the serious damage (estimated at ALL 234,007,500) to the property of the “forest fund” type and the corresponding land, registered in the cadastral office on behalf of the Fushë Arrëz Municipality”, announced SPAK.
The event, according to SPAK, occurred due to the actions and inactions of the former mayor of Fushë Arrëz, Fran Tuci and Ndoc Marku, who allowed the opening of a new rural auto road segment, previously disapproved by the competent authorities.
While businessman Durim Margjekaj, SPAK reports, in the capacity of administrator of the company “Legendari” sh.p.k. with complete and direct intention, he carried out infrastructure construction works without the relevant permit, bringing serious consequences to the property of the “forest fund” type owned by the municipality of Fushë Arrëz.
