Dozens of livestock farmers in the province of Lumi Vlora have come out in protest for the low price at which they sell milk. According to the livestock farmers, they are sacrificing every day with the cattle while the milk collectors have decided to reduce the price by almost 40% of the value.

The dairies have decided to buy milk at 120 lek, from the 180 lek price they used to buy it in December. This reduction has brought concern to livestock farmers, who have expressed that this price does not cover the costs of their expenses, nor does it justify the work done. During the protest, they said that they will not deliver a single liter of milk at this price.

“They are taking advantage at our expense, and they are forcing us not to work anymore,” the livestock farmers say.

In the province of Lumi Vlora, today they found dozens of young people engaged in animal husbandry, but according to them, the reduction in the price of the products they offer forces them to leave the country. They further added that the protests will continue until their voices are heard and they are treated with merit for the work they do.
