The Albanian community in Greece has published on social networks a decision that, according to them, prohibits Albanian immigrants from entering or leaving Greek territory without a residence permit.
This decision is expected to be implemented after March 30, 2024. Before this date, immigrants must have returned to Greece or else you will not be allowed to enter. The announcement states that the new regulation has been distributed to all border points.
Notification:
All immigrants living in Greece and waiting for a residence permit can travel to their home countries only with a residence permit. If you are waiting for a residence permit and you have the confirmation in hand, you cannot even travel to your country after March 30, 2024. Do not make the mistake of traveling, because entry will not be allowed. The same applies to all those outside Greece today. They must have returned by March 30, otherwise they will not be allowed to enter.
This is what the new regulation that has been sent to all border points says. The airport police told me that they expect changes, but we don’t know if there will be changes and how they will work. For now, be careful.
This decision follows the cooling of relations between Albania and Greece due to the imprisonment of Fredi Beler and his disallowance as the elected mayor of Himara. Beleri has also been sentenced by GJKKO to over two years in prison under the charge of election corruption.
Meanwhile, on March 19, a court hearing on this matter is expected to be held at the Court of Appeal.
