Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has reacted to the “Report” program of Rai3 in which the agreement for immigrants between Albania and Italy was criticized.
“Rama was lynched because he helped Italy,” Meloni said, according to Italian media.
The Italian prime minister’s statement was made in Pescara during the convention in which she announced her candidacy in the European elections on June 8 and 9.
“For the immigrants, we made an agreement with Edi Rama, but they chose to lynch him. They organized a documentary about Albania in which they portrayed it as a narco-state. Solidarity with Rama, and all the Albanian people”, said Meloni.
During her reaction, there was no lack of criticism towards the show “All the more so since you presented it as Telemon, or not, Telemeloni? Meloni said ironically, rejecting the accusation of the opposition and Rai’s own journalists that he has interfered in their journalistic work.
They produced a show about Albania in which they portrayed it “as a narco-state”, he continued.
Addressing her political opponent, the secretary of the Italian center-left Democratic Party, Elly Schlein said:
“They tell us, in Italy and in Europe, where they want to be: Tell us if they want to be with us on the side of legality and on the side of those who fight the slavers, or if they want to be on the side of mass illegal immigration that enriches criminal networks. I ask this in particular from the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, she must be clear about this,” Meloni further underlined.
“Essentially, all that remains is to dismantle every structural solution that we try to apply to this issue. Their parliamentarians did it in Europe with the agreement with Tunisia and Egypt, their journalists did it in Albania against the centers we are opening. Some judges did it militants in Italy against the norms to repatriate more quickly those who do not have the right to stay in Italy or Europe,” he continued.
We recall that in the investigation of “Rai 3”, documents and information were published that, according to the show “Report”, important exponents of the “Rama” government are connected to the world of crime and corruption.
According to RAI3’s investigation, the key man in the agreement between Albania and Italy for immigrants is the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, Engjëll Agaçi, who has previously protected people from the underworld.
