The opposition will officially open its election campaign today at 7:00 PM at “Mother Teresa”.
With a completely different scenography than other times, this moment will be preceded from 6:00 PM by youth activities, similar to the image of the opening of President Trump’s campaign, which focused on youth. Three LED screens will be placed for the history of the DP, while at the entrance to the boulevard there will be 11-ones, symbolizing the number of “Alliance for a Greater Albania” on the ballot.
The campaign manager, Chris LaCivita, will be alongside Sali Berisha, who will address the Albanians with their speeches. The DP leader himself did not reveal the details of the opening of the electoral campaign yesterday, but he spoke of the great support of Albanians for the DP in the May 11 race.
On the eve of the official opening of the campaign, Berisha did not reveal many details and chose to only make jokes. According to him, everything is ready for the official opening of the campaign, the scenario of which he prefers to keep a surprise, comparing it to a couple’s wedding ceremony. “A couple falls in love, months or years, but there is one day that changes and appears completely different and everyone, despite having seen them hundreds and thousands of times, runs to see them that day as a couple, in their wedding suits. That’s why all the surprises are tomorrow”, – said Sali Berisha.
Unlike the Prime Minister, he does not prefer to talk in numbers when it comes to the mandates that he says will bring the Democrats back to power after 12 years of being in opposition. “I never give percentages and numbers, because I am not a prophet. What I do is to ensure major national and international support for the victory of May 11 and I believe that these are evident. Look at the enthusiasm that exists and the legitimate optimism that exists today in Albania”, – Berisha emphasized.
As the packaging of ballots for the diaspora has also begun, Berisha promised that he and his people will stand up for a transparent process.
“We are defending that vote and will follow every process of it, until it is counted in its entirety with transparency”, – Berisha said.
The democratic leader also focused on developments in the European Parliament, where he said that the international community is determined for Albania to hold free elections. The hearing organized by the Foreign Affairs Committee in the European Parliament for Albania regarding the elections and the pre-election climate, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, describes as an alarm bell against the “Rama” government.
“In a three-day period, they have issues on their agenda: Albania, its major problems, the systematically violated elections, the organized crime that has seized the top of the state, political terror and the suppression of the opposition. The greatest concern was expressed about Edi Rama’s vote-buying industry,” said Sali Berisha.
Berisha says that the opposition’s accusations of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s seizure of justice were confirmed. “It was loudly denounced in Brussels, it means the annihilation of the rule of law. If the decisions of the country’s highest court are not implemented, in a way it constitutes a coup d’état,” added the leader of the Democrats. For Berisha, the new reform left Albanians without justice. “Who can sell the spectacular failure by denying Albanians the right to a legal process with George Soros’ reform? Defending this reform is the same as saying that Albanian citizens do not deserve justice,” said Berisha./Gazeta Panorama
