An event that shocked public opinion occurred a few days ago in the capital.
The news quickly circulated in the media that a police officer, in the late afternoon of January 15, had jumped from the 11th floor of a building, but no one knew the reason that had led this officer to self-immolation.
Azbi Spahiu, 57 years old, father of two children, with the status of Judicial Police Officer, decided to jump from the 11th floor of a building that he did not live in, where fortunately some internet wires that stopped him, saved his life. Today he is in the Resuscitation of the Trauma Hospital, under the care of doctors.
Azbi Spahiu was on the night shift at the Traffic Police, when the patrol escorted Samir Mane’s son, Martin Mane, after he had refused to take an alcohol test and had crashed two motorcycles, wanting to crash other cars, including the state police car, because the oligarch’s son knows that he is stronger than the state and can do whatever he wants.
Even though he was under the influence of alcohol and narcotics, he did not forget that he is the son of an oligarch, so he decided to leave the scene of the accident.
After Martin Mane’s refusal to take an alcohol test, Azbi Spahiu and his colleagues continued to take blood samples to perform the test and the result was that Martin Mane was drunk and under the influence of narcotics.
The prosecutor in this case has shown himself “generous” by releasing Manen on the spot and calling the arrest illegal, although no one can say for sure what would have happened if an ordinary citizen had been in his place.
This was the moment when the 57-year-old’s life changed forever.

Invited to the show ‘Të Paekspozuar’, Lala stated that there were communications between Azbi Spahiu and his son before he tried to end his life, where in some messages he states that his career was being destroyed and that AMP had called him to ask why he had arrested the oligarch’s son.
“Azbi Spahiu was called by AMP officials and asked to account for why it was done. Under pressure, he wrote to his son, saying that they were ruining his career with games, and then he jumped from a height. It is an issue that needs to be investigated. If Martin Mane was arrested and was under the influence of alcohol, an alcohol test should have been done and he should have been held accountable. If Martin Mane was arrested illegally and just because he is the son of a businessman, then we can raise suspicions that perhaps the structure is blackmailing. In both directions, if we catch him, an investigation is needed. Today I am on Azbi’s side because he is the weakest link, where an attempt was made to dismiss all responsibility. If he was arrested and favored, an investigation is needed. If he was arrested illegally and an attack was attempted on Samir Mane, an investigation is needed again. The silence of the institutions makes me suspect that it is not a black and white situation. AMP has no criminal investigation regarding this situation”, Lala declared.
