A serious incident happened in a private asylum for the elderly in Tirana in the early hours of this morning (August 8).

It is learned that a 78-year-old man hit his roommate several times with a cane.
It is reported that the perpetrator and the victim had a conflict around 04:00 this morning (August 8).
The incident took place in a private asylum room where the 78-year-old addressed his roommate saying “Why did you occupy my bed?”. Then he hit the 82-year-old man several times with his cane in several parts of his body and on his head.
As a result of the injuries received, the victim with the initials V. V. died in the accident.
While the suspected author of the incident, the elderly man with the initials Mr. Sh, has been arrested for the criminal offense of “Deliberate murder”.

Specialists of the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector at the DVP Tirana in cooperation with the Police Station No. 1, arrested the citizen Mr. Sh., 78 years old, a resident of a private asylum for the elderly, for the criminal offense of “Deliberate murder”, provided for by Article 76 of the Criminal Code.
This citizen is suspected that, today, 08.08.2024, around the early hours of the morning, for weak motives, he hit his roommate, citizen V. V., 82 years old, several times with a cane (iron stick). who died as a result of the injuries he received.
The materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office.
